 De syrah druif geeft hem zijn pittig karakter, maar de besnoeiing van overtollige druiventrossen en bladeren, zo'n 20 dagen voor de oogst, zorgt voor een unieke concentratie in het glas. Intens boeket van gekonfijt fruit en kruiden met een mooi evenwicht tussen fraîcheur en zachtheid.

ORIGIN
The grapes for this wine come from four terroirs: the area of Nîmes which gives complex notes, the eastern Aude valley which lends elegance, the Béziers plain which brings richness and the western Aude region.
VINIFICATION
Relatively long maceration. Part of the cuvée undergoes carbonic maceration. 6- to 9-months ageing in oak barrels for a part of the blend, the remaining is aged in stainless steel vats.
TASTING NOTES
Dark robe.
Aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, cherry, peat, cinnamon, thyme.
Round, rich and long palate with ripe tannins.

WINE AND FOOD
Enjoy with chicken with ratatouille, stuffed tomatoes, lentils with salt pork.

SERVING SUGGESTIONS  Serve at 17°C.

The Wine
This wine really plays to the strengths of RedHeads – each year, we select the very best parcels
of McLaren Vale Shiraz. We don’t tie ourselves to one grower or one area, but search out where
Nature has been most magnanimous in her gifts of good weather and where growers have
made full use of what she has bestowed.
What we can guarantee each year is richness of fruit and real power, all wrapped in the soft
vanilla tones of larger American oak. Consistently gorgeous, luscious and totally irresistible.
Tasting Note
Deep purple-toned crimson. Brooding aromas of dark red fruits (plums and mulberries) with
the sweet scent of cedary oak. Liquid velvet with spicy blackberry and raspberry power,
 nishing on notes of smoky liquorice, generously wrapping a framework of rounded tannins.

Licht geelgouden kleur.
Aroma's van tropisch fruit zoals ananas en passievrucht met tonen van meloen.
Het is een sappige wijn, licht zoet (18g/l) maar met een goede zuurbalans, en een lange fruitige afdronk.

Te drinken als aperitief of zomaar.
